PAYMENTS
1. Rules accepts the following major credit and debit cards: American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, Delta, JCB. Payment of your Deposit may be made online through Stripe or payment may be made by Bank Transfer, the funds having cleared our account in advance of the function. Our Bank details are as follows; Sort Code: 30-84-23 Account No: 25085668. Payment for any balance outstanding on the afternoon or evening of the function can only be accepted in cash or on one of our accepted credit/ debit cards. Cheques will not be accepted on the day of the Function. Should you wish to pay by more than one card on the day, prior notice will be required.
RESERVATIONS AND DEPOSITS
2. Due to demand over the Christmas period Reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis and accepted only on receipt of the agreed signed Terms and Conditions and a non-refundable deposit of £1,000 for the John Betjeman Room, and £2,000 for the Graham Greene Room. We are unable to hold any reservation without these terms being met. The minimum spend per room is the same as the non-refundable deposit.
ALLOCATION OF DINING ROOMS
3. There are two private dining rooms; the John Betjeman Room which seats a maximum of 10 people and the Graham Greene which seats a maximum of 20 people. Each has its own full bar (measures of Spirits are 50 millilitres (large measures) unless otherwise stated). A bar price list is available. Unfortunately, Rules does not have the facility to operate a cash bar. Any event starting before 11.30am will be subject to an additional room hire charge. Lunch parties must vacate the room by 4.30pm. For Dinner reservations, the room will not be available before 6.30pm.
SUBSTITUTIONS AND EXTRA COURSES
We will require notification of your chosen menu no later than 7 days prior to the date of your Reservation. Any delay may reduce the choice of menus available. Food allergies and intolerances; before you order your food and drinks please speak to our staff who will provide the information about our ingredients.
4. It is possible to change dishes from one menu to another or extend the menu by adding an intermediate course, such as a fish dish, although it may affect the quoted prices. The chosen menu must be the same for all the guests, however, vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements can be accommodated. You must give at least 48 hours notice of the actual numbers of your party attending on the day (if this differs from the numbers specified in your booking) as this will be the number for which you will be charged.

5. Canapés £4.50 each. English Cheese £11.95 per person. Petit Fours £4.50 per person.
Birthday cakes made to order by prior arrangement from £60.00.
SERVICE CHARGE/ VAT
6. A 15% Service Charge will be added to your bill, which will be distributed to the banqueting staff. VAT at 20% is included in all of our prices.
CANCELLATION FEES
7. Should you cancel your Reservation the non-refundable deposit will be payable to Rules. Any cancellation must be in writing.
STAG/ HEN PARTIES
8. Please note that Rules’ Private Dining Rooms do not accept stag or hen parties - any party booked for such an event will be subject to refusal on arrival.
RULES PREMISES
9. Our Private Dining Rooms are situated on the 2nd floor and, unfortunately, there is no lift access to the rooms.
10. THE RIGHT TO REVISE MENUS AND PRICES WITHOUT NOTICE IS RESERVED
11. The interpretation, implementation and enforcement of this contract shall be determined exclusively in accordance with the law of England and Wales.
12. How to Pay Your Deposit:
Your booking is confirmed on receipt of your deposit. For all bookings made from 1st October: the deposit must be paid in full 7 days from acceptance of your Provisional Reservation. Should the Deposit not be received within 7 days the Reservation will be released. Payment may be made online via our website page http://rules.co.uk/private-dining-events/christmas-booking-form/ using your unique booking reference which will be given to you by our Private Dining Department.
